Some ideas zip by you on the highway of life, screaming "hello" and "bye" in that split second when you can hear them before they vanish off into the horizon. Some might come back again to see how you've been doing. Then there are some that come back in a tank and park in your front yard until you do something about it.

Blackstone's one of those.

It was one of those things (you know, one of those things) where all these random story elements come together into something that makes you say "Did I think of that?" Like throwing a lot of random fruits and vegetables into a blender and blending (gee, never saw that coming?) those suckers into Ambrosia. (Poor analogy but I thought it was funny).

To the point, there was a general plotline that I always wanted to explore but never could think up an appropriate setting for it. I was designing a fantasy game when it struck me that the general concept could work with some tweaking, so, lo and behold, Blackstone. (Awesome that I could actually use that phrase in context).
